Admissions for “Industrial and System Engineering” master’s program announced, while pilot successfully completed
Armenian National Engineering Laboratories (ANEL) of National Polytechnic University of Armenia (NPUA)/Institute of Information and Telecommunication Technologies and Electronics together with Enterprise Incubator Foundation and Engineering City successfully completed “Industrial and System Engineering” Pilot Joint MS Degree Program supported by PMI Science.
On June 28, the students of “Industrial and System Engineering” pilot MS degree program received their graduation certificates in the framework of “Armenia Engineering Week” held at Vanadzor Technology Center.
“Launching these kinds of programs in Armenian universities is another step forward to developing the science and engineering sectors inside the country. We want to give this fantastic opportunity to young scientists of Armenia and urge them to continue their path into science,” noted Mariam Davtyan, the Manager of Alliances & Planning at Philip Morris Armenia.
The Pilot program provided 15 scholarships (500,000 AND amount each) to the best students of the Institute of Information and Telecommunication Technologies and Electronics for a year of master program, with all organizational costs covered.
The students successfully completed 4 elective courses:
- Foundation of the Systems Engineering process
- Computational Methods in Engineering
- Project Management, System Design and Integration
- System Engineering: Tools and Methods
Department of Industrial and System Engineering of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is also involved in the process of launching joint MS programme. The Rutgers University is sharing its experience, knowledge and skills with the Armenian partners.
In the scope of the partnership, NPUA “Industrial and System Engineering” pilot MS degree program students had a study visit to Rutgers University this spring. They attended courses, as well as detected the possible areas for joint research.
In June 2019 the admissions process for “Industrial and System Engineering” Joint master’s degree program for 2019-2020 study year was announced.
The program includes both educational and research components. Partner organizations will provide scholarships for 10 students. The selection of the scholars will be made of commission consisted of representatives of partner companies. The 10 best candidates will receive 570,000 AMD each, which is the full amount of money for the tuition fee.
